Mold will occur when mulch is unable to dry out and is in a damp area. The mold will cause no harm to your plants or other vegetation and should disappear within 3 weeks. The easiest way to remove it is simply with a shovel. To keep mold from appearing try watering less as mold thrives in warm shady wet environments.

Fill dirt can be used when filling deep holes. Fill is a cheaper option and will not settle like topsoil or compost. It is best to use topsoil for the last 3 inches of the hole if you plan to plant on top of it.

Loosen up the first 2-3 inches of soil.

Break any larger clumps of soil. Clumps smaller than a half dollar are acceptable.

Spread seeds evenly (approximately 16 seeds per square inch).

Cover seeds evenly with soil no deeper than ¼ inch of soil, the back of a rake can be used for this.

Optional cover seeds lightly with straw or straw matting this will help keeps seeds moist and stop them from washing away.

Water often you want to keep the seeds moist but not saturated.

Allow grass to grow 3-4 inches before cutting and be sure to allow the soil to dry 48hrs before mowing.

What is the difference between 2A and 3/4 Modified stone?

2A is a 1-2 inch stone, 3/4 is a 1/2-3/4 inch stone.
2A is meant to be 4 inches below or more the finished surface while 3/4 is meant to be 2-4 inches below the finished surface. 3/4 is easier to level and packs and tamps tighter.
